We found ourselves in BGC one night after work and stumbled upon Puzzles: Board Game Lounge in The Fort Strip. Food and board game restaurants/cafes have become quite a trend and I’m not complaining. Restaurants like these get people to actually bond and not ignore each other over their own screens.
The place was quite big. There was a special area for the board games and a second floor as well. Puzzles offers a variety of comfort food, shakes, coffee and even beer! Prices were a bit pricey ranging from 200-300 PHP.
I got the Chicken and Waffles. The waffles were pretty good and had a hefty serving but wasn’t proportionate to the tiny serving of fried boneless chicken. Waffles are served with syrup and butter. The chicken is topped with three strips of bacon. I have to say that their plates were large and really heavy and bulky which made table placement when playing board games a challenge.
Here’s the play area. There are 3 tables and a lot of comfy, inviting and colorful bean bags that’ll make you wanna stay for hours.
Here’s their collection of board games. Their selection were interesting with different genres, themes and mechanics. It was hard picking which to play. We ended up playing a snakes and ladders game that was Frozen themed, Sumo Ham Slam (Sumo Hamsters), and Jenga. However, you had to pay a gaming fee of PHP 100 just so you could play with their games. Total downer for me.
