ELYU: A Weekend at La Union

1

There is no better way to beat the burn out than to pack an overnight bag, get on a bus and just leave. One Friday night after work, that’s exactly what we did. We all needed it.

We rode a Partas bus bound for Vigan that will pass by La Union–our destination. There is a bus that leaves hourly at their Cubao station, fare for La Union is about 420PHP.

Our bus left at 10PM and we arrived at San Juan, La Union at around 5AM (this trip had a lot of stop overs, not to mention the traffic accident our bus got into at EDSA) but the travel time is roughly 6 hours. Once we got there we headed straight for the beach.

Here’s us (L-R, Mary, Lui and Me) admiring the sunrise and it’s beautiful colors painted in the sky over the lovely ocean at 5AM. This has got to be one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever witnessed. It was a great start for me in La Union.

We really didn’t have an itinerary and ended up doing things spontaneously, and I wouldn’t have it any other way–for a first timer at LU.

We went to the El Union Café, Tangadan Falls, Flotsam & Jetsam, a few other restaurants and of course, ELYU beach.

Here’s the whole crew, (L-R) Mary, Me, Lui and Justine. Shout out to these girls! Never thought I’d enjoy this trip this much! Was a little nervous about this because Mary and Justine were Lui’s friends and I’ve never really hung out with them. Almost didn’t go to this trip because I was too socially anxious but I’m glad I went through with it.

More about my weekend at La Union on my next blog posts! Stay tuned!
