Rustic Mornings by Isabelo is one of the most loved secrets here in Marikina City and I, being a proud Marikeño who is a fearless foodie myself, will share to you a special place and restaurant that is close to my heart. I go here mostly during my birthday because there is no other place I’d like to have breakfast in on my special day. It is the secret garden in Marikina and every time I step into this beautiful restaurant, its as if I’m in a whole other world.

So the hashtag #GrowingUpInQatar was trending a few days back and it really brought back a lot of memories of my time there. I got really nostalgic. I am and forever will be a #DohaKid and in this blog post, I’ll be talking about my favorite things about #GrowinUpInQatar. Continue reading

Flotsam & Jetsam is the absolute place to be in San Juan, La Union. It is a well loved hostel and known for its cozy, rustic aura. They say that people who stay here all become friends—no strangers. Our favorite hangout place was at the kubo where numerous bean bags and a few duyans were. It’s also an open place so even non guests can hang out. But one of the selling points, for me, is their delicious and refreshing Makai Bowls!

Munchies: Salliano’s | Gil Fernando Ave., Marikina City

Salliano’s is one of the newer restaurant and bar joints in Marikina that I’ve wanted to try since their opening. Knowing that it’s just a few minutes away from my house, I don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner. However, once I heard that they had the best spam fries in Manila I couldn’t help but take my family there immediately–especially because my brother is leaving soon and spam is his favorite processed food!

When I was little I didn’t like sweets that much. My parents tell me that it was weird when we would get ice cream and I would ask for weird flavors like avocado, mango, cheese. I never liked chocolate especially because I had a weak throat and would always get tonsillitis after eating chocolate without drinking a glass of water afterwards. But recently I’ve grown a sweet tooth and have been devouring chocolate anything. So you can imagine my bliss when I found out about Amo Yamie Crib and how near it was to UST. Took any opportunity to visit my old university just so I can visit this place!

Munchies: Tokyo Bubble Tea + Honeybon Cafe’s Sushi

20160410_200310
Tokyo Bubble Tea in collaboration with Honeybon Cafe is a Japanese cafe that immerses you in its food and culture. The place is huge but quaint and colorful with a honey comb inspired interior. The staff are nice and welcoming and will greet you in Japanese the moment you enter. The seats are cozy and very inviting. The music they play feels as if they’ve all been taken from anime shows (yes I recognized a few of them haha).
